Hares and Yellowhammers in spring.
Date and Time:
1 April - 2 May 2015
Venue:
World Land Trust Art Gallery, Halesworth
Details:

A new exhibition for Easter of hand coloured linocuts by Andrew Haslen opens at World Land Trust Art Gallery in April.

The hare features in many of the works on display, along with a fine selection of other animals and birds including foxes, hedgehogs, woodcock and snipe - all rendered in his distinctively bold and colourful style. The show includes recent linocuts on public display for the very first time.

On Saturday 18 April there will be an opportunity for members of the public to meet the artist and find out more about his work. Andrew will be in the gallery to chat to visitors about his work and to sign copies of his recent book Halcyon. The book contains a selection of new drawings and watercolours as well as anecdotes from the artist’s life, with an emphasis on the elusive kingfisher.

An elected member of the Society of Wildlife Artists since 1988, Andrew has won many awards. He was winner of the Royal Society for Nature Conservation’s Natural World Art Award in 1992 and 1997 and winner of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Art Award in 1996 and 1999.

In 2014 World Land Trust entered into an innovative partnership with the renowned Wildlife Art Gallery in Lavenham, Suffolk, which Andrew also runs. The result has been a series of dynamic and successful exhibitions curated by Andrew and Amie Haslen, including this new show.
